Automatic Recording of Defects
When an electronic inspection report is received, Prime will (where necessary) automatically assign a defect level based on the information contained within the report. As a general rule, defects are rated:
| • | Category A – the most severe type of defect, requiring immediate repair. |
| • | Category B – a serious defect requiring repair within a defined time limit. |
| • | Category C – a defect which requires repair. |
| • | Observation – a comment or observation made by the surveyor perhaps detailing additional information on any repairs required, or comments to take into account in future inspections. |
The automatic defect level may be over-ridden to match criteria used by individual end-users. For example, for some organisations ALL defects may be viewed as possibly compromising safe working and they may therefore be re-classified as Category A.
Manual Recording of Defects
Defects may be recorded (by users with a security level of 55 or above) via the " Defects For" screen.
